[RMMV] How to execute battle commands immediately

author=PineBox
Cool. Thanks. So I guess I should just set that to 1000 for Counter, etc., same as it's set by default for Guard.

---
Hmm... Not doing it. I still have to click on the player character or press Enter to execute the command. I want to be able to just select the command in the menu and have it execute straight away, without having to hit Enter a second time. Like with Guard by default...

If you mean you want it to activate outside of a turn, try Yanfly Instant Cast

Otherwise, I don't think you can bypass it without scripting. I believe Guard is treated as a command that activates whatever happens to be Skill number 2 in the skill list.

Holy Crap, why are some Games so HUGE??

author=bicfarmer
There is a tutorial on how to turn off RTP requirement on this site somewhere.

However I have different problem. I don't know which sound files the default database uses, so I'm hesitant to trim the audio folder.

You can always just trim the music (and import the tracks as needed) and keep all the sound effects.

@Momeka: Yep! It's Crescent Eve. Gamepage is here.

Holy Crap, why are some Games so HUGE??

author=Tuomo_L
My biggest game so far is over 1,4GB. That doesn't include all the graphics for the game so I expect the filesize to climb to 1,5-2 GB at full release, depending on how complex the emotion busts become. This is very small in size for a videogame nowadays though, Tekken 7 is 61 GB.

Friendo, you might wanna consider compressing some of your audio assets. Since you're not even accounting for graphics, I'm guessing the majority of that filesize is uncompressed sound files.

The Steam version of Soma Spirits was about 220MB, and about 90% of that was audio files. If you've got tons of uncompressed songs that are all several minutes you might really want to consider slimming down. No RM game should be more than 400-500 MB tops, even ones made in MV.

I've got some nonsense going on here.

Net Neutrality FCC Vote

Though the repeal seems to be a done deal and will most likely happen, I don't imagine that ISPs are going to immediately start sectioning off websites into packages like the Portugal example, since this would cause a huge amount of backlash and lost business. More than likely, neutrality will be undermined in ways that aren't visible or noticeable to most of the public. And if the Portugal model does happen, it likely will be very gradual.

And even if the repeal happens, that's not going to be the absolute end of everything. There will be pushback, and I guarantee that there will be court battles.

December 14th won't be the immediate end of the internet. It's just when the real fight begins,.

Black Crystals

Been following this for a while. I also hear the musician is a cool guy.

Is RTP bad?

There are tons of opinions on this. It really depends on what kind of project you're making: Are you making a practice game? Something short for a gamejam? Something much larger and possibly commercial?

Virtually everyone has used the RTP at some point, and it's an excellent way to focus on the different intricacies of RPG Maker outside of your game's presentation, and is great for learning as you work towards making a more fully-fleshed out game.

Whether you should continue to use RTP graphics as you do so is a different story, and there are varying opinions about in this and other communities. If you eventually learn to make your own assets (something I personally encourage people to do) then moving away from the RTP is generally a good move. But if using stock assets works in favor of your production cycle, say if you're making a mega-project like Everlong and need to use stock assets in the interest of time, then there's certainly no problem there. Or if you just don't really care that you game will look like every other RTP game out there.
